Q&A

What engines is this intake manifold compatible with?
This intake manifold is designed for Pontiac V8 applications, including 326 in3, 350 in3, 389 in3, 400 in3, 455 in3.

Will this intake fit common Pontiac V8 engines?
Yes, this intake fits Pontiac V8 combinations including 326, 350, 389, 400, and 455 engines.

What type of carburetor flange does this intake use?
This intake uses a spread bore carburetor flange and is built for single 4-barrel carbureted applications.

What RPM range is this intake designed for?
This dual plane intake is designed to perform from 1,500-6,500 RPM, making it a strong choice for performance street and street/strip use.

What kind of performance gains can I expect?
This intake is designed to improve airflow efficiency, throttle response, and torque over a broad operating range compared to a stock-style intake manifold.

Is this intake better for street or race use?
This intake is best suited for street performance and mild street/strip applications where drivability and broad usable power are important.

What type of intake manifold is this?
This is a dual plane aluminum intake manifold, built to improve low-end and mid-range performance while maintaining good drivability.

Will this intake clear a stock hood?
It features a relatively low-profile design to help with hood clearance, with a front height of 6.880 in., center height of 7.450 in., rear height of 8.000 in..

What material is this intake made from?
It is cast from lightweight aluminum, which helps reduce weight and improve heat dissipation.

Is this a direct bolt-on intake manifold?
In most cases, this intake is designed as a direct-fit manifold for compatible Pontiac V8 applications, though proper gaskets, carburetor setup, and supporting components are still recommended during installation.

Are there any special installation notes for this intake?
Yes, this intake has no provision for a factory-style choke, so your carburetor and linkage setup should match that configuration.

Will this intake improve throttle response on my Pontiac?
Yes, the manifold design helps improve airflow and mixture distribution, which can translate to better throttle response and more consistent power delivery.

Is this a good upgrade from a stock intake?
Yes, this intake is a solid upgrade for compatible Pontiac V8 builds that need improved airflow, better drivability, and stronger performance across the usable RPM range.

Does the polished finish affect performance?
No, the polished finish is cosmetic and does not change performance—it gives the intake a bright, show-quality appearance.

How do I maintain the polished finish?
Regular cleaning and occasional polishing will help maintain the shine and reduce surface oxidation over time.
