Q&A

What vehicles and engines is this intake manifold designed for?
This intake manifold fits 1965–2000 Chevrolet Big Block V8 engines with standard deck height, making it a versatile option for many BBC builds.

Will this fit a 454 Big Block Chevy engine?
Yes, it is compatible with 454 engines as long as they use standard deck height and oval port heads.

Does this intake support different carburetor types?
Yes, it is designed for spread bore carburetors and includes an adapter to support square bore carburetors as well.

What RPM range does this intake operate in?
This dual-plane intake is designed for idle through approximately 5,500 RPM, delivering strong low-end torque and mid-range power.

How does this intake improve engine performance?
It improves airflow efficiency, resulting in better throttle response, increased torque, and improved overall drivability.

Is this intake better for street or racing applications?
This intake is ideal for street-driven vehicles and mild performance builds rather than dedicated high-RPM race applications.

What design type is this intake manifold?
This is a dual-plane intake manifold designed to enhance low- and mid-range engine performance.

Will this intake fit under a stock hood?
Yes, its low-profile design helps maintain clearance under most factory hoods.

What is the intake made of?
It is made from aluminum, providing a balance of strength, weight reduction, and heat dissipation.

Is installation straightforward on a Big Block Chevy?
Yes, it is designed for straightforward installation as a replacement for stock-style intake manifolds.

What additional components may be required?
Standard installation parts such as gaskets, carburetor adjustments, and possibly an adapter plate may be needed depending on your setup.

Will this intake improve drivability on the street?
Yes, the dual-plane design improves air velocity at lower RPMs, enhancing drivability and throttle response.

Is this intake a noticeable upgrade from stock?
Yes, it offers improved airflow and more consistent power delivery across the RPM range.

Does the satin finish require maintenance?
The satin aluminum finish requires minimal maintenance and is less prone to showing fingerprints or oxidation compared to polished surfaces.

What are the advantages of a satin finish intake?
